The design concept is sophistication with symmetry, modernity and novelty. "mzk1" represents the designer, Mizuki Tohyama, individuality and innovation. His creation is altered continually by renewed awareness through experimentation.

After graduation from Graphic Design at Tokyo Designer Gakuin College, Mizuki Tohyama enrolled into General Design at the same school in 2004 and studied fashion design as a research student. He collaborated with the Tokyo based theatrical company "Gekidan Tokyo Beret" in producing costumes and shortly after he launched the mzk1 brand. mzk1 was showcased at Tokyo Design Festa and he has put on "guerilla fashion show" in Omote-sando, Harajuku and exhibited at clubs around Tokyo.
mzk1 is currently planning an upcoming fashion-show and exhibition.
