In one tenth of the size, Dover Street
Market Tokyo represents the essence and spirit of its London parent, thus
offering a microcosmic version of its beautiful chaos. The interior decoration,
a clash of creative energy, was directed and conceived by Rei Kawakubo,
with the participation of acclaimed interior designer Michael Howells,
as well as two Japanese artists, Yuichi Higashionna and Kahori Maki.
As well as edited lines from Comme des Garcons's brands, the shop plays host to spaces by Labour and Wait, Michael Kostiff's World Archive, Emma Hawkins, Cutler and Gross and many young designers. Most items are available exclusively at Dover Street Market. |
